On World Art Day – 15th of April, – the associates in the LAB4GE project, want to recognize the role art plays in our lives and celebrate the power of art to inspire, transform and create positive change in our world.
We also want to draw attention to the importance of gender equality in the art world. Unfortunately, gender inequality has been pervasive throughout history, with women often being excluded from art education, exhibitions, and other opportunities. This is why it’s crucial to acknowledge and uplift the work of female artists. By doing so, we not only recognize their contributions, but we also challenge the outdated and harmful stereotypes that have historically limited women’s opportunities and achievements.
So, let’s celebrate World Art Day by appreciating the incredible work of artists everywhere, while also committing to promoting gender equality and inclusivity in the art world and beyond.
The Learn Abroad to do Better at home for Gender Equality project is funded by Erasmus+ and more information about the project are available on Associazione Sud website: click here
